How to Send Dormitory Bills via LINE (and Get Paid Automatically)

Published June 5, 2026 · 7 min read

Every tenant already has LINE — so instead of taping bills to doors or printing them one by one, IslandDorm sends bills into LINE with a pay link, and tenants scan PromptPay to pay themselves. This explains the two ways to bill on LINE (manual share vs automatic), what the tenant sees and does next, and how far each plan goes.

TL;DR

  • Way 1 — one-click share: tap a button on the bill → the bill image + a summary message + a pay link pop into your share sheet; pick LINE, pick the tenant, send. Works on every plan, no setup.
  • Way 2 — automatic via a LINE Official Account: link your dorm's OA once, and the system sends invoices, due/overdue reminders, and payment confirmations every month on its own.
  • Every bill carries a 'Pay online' link — tenants open it to see the amount, scan a PromptPay QR to pay, and attach the slip, all on one page.
  • When you approve the slip, the system sends a 'payment received' confirmation back over LINE automatically — no typing a reply.
  • Automatic sending is on Pro (or Starter with the LINE Lite add-on) — while one-click share is on every plan from ฿199/month.

Two ways to send bills via LINE in IslandDorm

Pick whichever suits you — start with manual share, switch on automation later when you're ready:

Way 1 — one-click share

Every bill has a share button. Tap it and the system bundles the bill image + a summary message + the pay link into one action, opens your phone's share sheet — pick LINE, pick the tenant, send. (The message is also copied to your clipboard in case LINE drops it.)

Way 2 — automatic via LINE OA

Link your dorm's Official Account to the system; the tenant adds it as a friend and types a 'linking code' once. After that the system sends bills and reminders every month on its own — no opening an app to send room by room.

What the tenant does after getting the bill

However you send it, the tenant's end is the same — designed to finish on a single phone:

  1. 1

    Tenant gets a LINE message

They see the room number, billing month, amount due, and due date — written in both Thai and English in one message, so foreign tenants can read it too.

  2. 2

    Tap the 'Pay online' link

Every message carries a public pay-page link. Tenants open it right away — no login, no app download.

  3. 3

Scan the PromptPay QR to pay

The pay page shows the amount and the dorm's PromptPay QR; tenants scan it with their banking app and transfer instantly.

  4. 4

    Attach the payment slip

They upload the slip on the same page for you to verify — done in one place, no sending the slip back through chat.

  5. 5

    System confirms 'payment received' automatically

When you approve the slip, the system sends a LINE message back confirming receipt and marks the bill 'paid' for you.

If a slip doesn't check out (wrong amount, blurry image) you can reject it with a reason, and the system asks the tenant to resend — all inside the same LINE chat, nothing scattered across channels.

5 events the system sends on LINE automatically

With automation on, the system messages at these moments (each one can be toggled on/off):

New invoiceThe moment a new billing cycle is issued — or set it to 'confirm before sending' if you'd rather review first.
Due-soon reminderA heads-up before the due date (default: 3 days before, at 18:00).
Overdue noticeA nudge once it's late (default: 1 day after, repeating every 3 days until paid).
Payment approvedA 'received' confirmation the instant you approve the slip — the tenant relaxes, no follow-up questions.
Slip rejectedStates the reason and asks for a new slip when one doesn't pass review.

A 'quiet hours' window prevents late-night pings (default 22:00–08:00, adjustable), and a delivery log lets you check who got what and when.

How far each plan goes on LINE

We don't cap the number of messages — we gate customization and scale instead:

Starter

Manual share
  • One-click share of any bill into LINE
  • Every bill carries a PromptPay pay link
  • No OA setup — start right away

Starter + LINE Lite

Basic automation
  • Turns on automatic sending for all 5 events
  • Standard timing + standard messages
  • Great for a single dorm starting automation on a budget

Pro

Full automation
  • Set your own reminder timing/conditions
  • Edit the message wording
  • Multiple properties + full delivery log

Business

Everything
  • Everything in Pro
  • Rich menu + repair requests via LINE
  • Multiple Official Accounts

Not sure which level you need? Start with Starter's manual share, then upgrade when you want the system to send for you every month.

FAQ

Do tenants need to install an app?

No. Tenants just use LINE and the banking app they already have. The pay link is a public web page they open straight from the chat — no login, no signup.

Can I just send bills room by room on LINE myself, without an OA?

Yes. The one-click share mode is on every plan — tap the button on a bill, pick LINE, send it to the tenant. The system already bundles the bill image and pay link for you, with no Official Account setup.

What's the difference between a LINE OA and manual share?

Manual share = you send each bill yourself; great for small dorms or getting started fast. A LINE OA = link your dorm's official account once, then the system sends invoices/reminders/confirmations every month on its own; great when you have many rooms or don't want to send manually.

Can foreign tenants read it?

Yes. Bill messages and reminders are written in both Thai and English in a single message, so every tenant understands without any per-tenant language setting.

If LINE fails to send, do I lose the bill?

No. Issuing bills and approving slips run independently of LINE delivery — if a message can't be sent, the bill is still fully in the system, and you can always share it yourself or print a paper invoice as before.

I'm worried about messaging tenants late at night.

There's a built-in 'quiet hours' window (default 22:00–08:00). Anything due to send during that window waits until morning, and you can adjust the window yourself.
